Terra Firma, My Ass

There is quite a knot on the back of my skull from a vertigo-induced spill I took at home on Sunday. I had been struggling with vertigo all morning and afternoon; every time I rose from a seated position the room would spin and I had to grab onto something — quick — to avoid falling. Shortly after two I laid down to try to rest but was unable to. I rose from the bed slowly and with great deliberation and the next thing I know I was hugging the living room wall to regain terra firma. And that’s when I passed out briefly, only to come back to consciousness when I struck the back of my head on the floor.
